Another couple of women from our church go on evangelism shopping trips at Target or the mall. They say to people, “Hey, we’re practicing giving encouraging words from God at our church. Could we practice with you?” This is really effective because where some people might feel defensive about receiving from you, they’re often glad to “help you out” by letting you practice on them. These two ladies then ask God to give them specific encouragements for the people who say yes, and they ask Him for insights about who the people are and what situations they’re facing. The shoppers have been blown away by some of the “encouragements” that have come through these evangelistic women.
