Some people are “feelers” in the prophetic. We feel people’s pain, joy, excitement, or other emotion. We feel things from the heart of God. Some people are “seers. We see in pictures and have dreams. We live a life of metaphor and symbolism. Some people are “Hearers”. Sometimes we can move in all three. It is a good thing not to get locked into one methodology. Try to have a varety of ways to receive and deliver prophetic words. After all, God himself is full of infinite variety.

Most people prophecy the first

Most people prophecy the first thing they receive. We can actually prophesy a word of knowledge that God gave us as infomration. It is called prophesying the problem and has damaged more people’s lives than any other activity in the prophetic realm. Never give the first thing you receive. Don’t be in a hurry to prophesy. It’s not a race. You are dealing with sensitive issues in a person and can cause great pain. We must not feel that we have to get a word out of your mouth as soon as we get it.

If we do not tame our tongue, our gift will hit a glass ceiling and level off. Operating in the prophetic takes two things: we must trust God with everything and He must bring us to the place where He can trust us. We can aspire to higher and deeper levels of the prophetic, but the cost of that is controlling our everyday conversations

When a handyman lays a floor, he knows the first row of tiles is the most important. If those are off just slightly, the floor will look worse and worse as he continues to build it. Eventually it has to be completely redone. By ignoring God’s call to realign the first row of tiles, we end u having to have our entire life pulled up and relaid. Sensible Christians know this and keep a short account with God,. They constantly repent for their sin and open themselves up to his Subtle touch. Hundreds of small adjustments are better than six really big changes. Being taken behind the woodshed by God is never fun.
