Revivals are messy by nature

Revivals are messy by nature. That is the Holy Spirit moves within a human environment that is always moulded by human sin, including encumbering religious traditions and demonic presences. Thus the manifestations of the Holy Spirit are imperfect and contaminated because of human sinfulness, flawed human institutions, theology and practices. This even happened in New Testament times. Paul’s Corinthian congregation was among the most Spirit filled and the most unruly and contentious at the same time.

Theology of the Spirit
