Even among Christians, the Christian mind has all but disappeared and many ethical decisions are taken on a basis of a Christianized hedonism (what makes us feel so good must be God’s will) or a Christianized utilitarianism (which measures what God wills only by an amount of benefit an action brings).
Providence is a reminder that the Lord is a God of grace and generosity; prayer is our way of responding to his invitation to be a member of his covenant family, his son or daughter, his co-worker in this world.
