Eve after Adam

Why do you suppose Eve was not created at the same time as Adam? Wasn’t God smart enough to realize that man would be lonely? Didn’t He know that He’d eventually have to create Eve? Of course God did. But He wanted Adam to have an understanding of his need. Before Eve was created, Adam’s relationship with God became cemented, but that relationship with God wasn’t all that his heart required—he had been created with the need for intimacy with a fellow human being. And because he began to understand that need, he was later able to truly love and cherish the woman God brought to him.
