Jesus isn’t nearly as scared of honesty as we are. We hide how we really feel from God, we hide from our community we even hide from ourselves. But prayer is a safe place to bring all that we are before all that God is. No edit button. You don’t have to Moralise. You can let whatever is in there come to the surface under the loving gaze of a God who defining character trait is compassion and who knows very well what it’s like to feel everything that you are feeling.
