The image we might prefer for the Bible’s portrait of the nations is not a melting pot (in which differences are blended together into a sinle allow) but a salad bowl (in which ingredients preserve their distinctive colour, texture and taste.) The new creation will preserve the rich diversity of the original creation, but be purged of the sin laden effects of the Fall.
