Basil of Caesarea during the great famine of 389AD
When someone steals a man’s clothes, we call him a thief, so shouldn’t we give the same name to one could clothe the naked and does not? The bread in your cupboard belongs to the hungry, the coat in your wardrobe belongs to the naked, the shoes you let rot belongs to the barefoot, the money in your vaults belongs to the poor. You do wrong to all those you could help but do not.
