Lost in space

On 18th November 2008, the NASA astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper lost her toolkit. She was spacewalking outside the Space Shuttle Endeavour in order to make some essential repairs, when she lost hold of her backpack-sized tool bag and helplessly watched it float away. Astronomers back home
were excited that they could see her missing toolkit with their telescopes as it floated out of View in the weeks which followed. NASA was rather less excited, however. $100,000 worth of vital
tools had now been lost in space.
