Discomfort with justice and wrath

We have failed to show the love of God in the Old Testament and the wrath and judgment of God in the New Testament. We have also failed to read the Bible through a post-traumatic lens, the lens with which it was written and through which it was read by its first readers and most readers throughout biblical and church history.

So much of our discomfort with judgment and wrath is a mark of our privilege, mine included. Victims of injustice want justice and write about it. Sometimes their cry for justice seems to be too much to nontraumatized readers.
