In Old Testament prophecy, the anointing came upon certain individuals. In the New Testament, the anointing dwells within us. The contrast is seen in the following scriptures: Old Testament: Ezekiel 11: 5 “And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me…”
New Testament: Acts 2: 4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…”
Old Testament: Isaiah 61: 1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me…”
New Testament: 1 John 2: 27 “The anointing… abides in you…”
