A description of the prophetic as the “fire” and church government as the “fireplace” gives an excellent illustration of how the two can work together: Fire burning out of control is a threat and a menace, and the fireplace structure with no fire in it is a cold, empty shell. No one wants the prophetic burning out of control, but when the prophetic is embedded in the fireplace structure, it gives warmth and a wholesome glow to everyone. In fact, the fire can burn and rage, but it is still safely contained within that structure.
